Grief

How do others handle the loss of a major or minor life character? During the hurricane I lost the friendship of a neighbor. I loved her person, her character, her stalwart understanding of self, and her zucchini bread.

She grew things. She loved digging her fingers into the earth and growing things…like zucchini. She loved life in all its forms and formats.

I miss her and will miss her until I die. And that is a measure of a life; whether there is or is not an afterlife, I will miss her in my "everafter."

What will America do next?

I dont mean, in any way, for this thread to be a debate of the subject. Im not here to convert anyone. fyi I dont believe in the moon landing, 9/11 being solely the work of terrorists, the war in iraq as a terrorist cleansing effort,

Going on the assumption that our country quite possibly has staged some of its more important events, what do you think they will do next, and why?

Stage a 10 year anniversary attack of 9/11…virus, another ‘attack’?

meerschaum pipes and or pipe kits

I know that the Turkish government halted the sale of raw and or unfinished meerschaum but is there a way I can still get a plentiful source of partially finished pieces and or pipe kits somewhere? EBay occasionally has then but they are way over priced. I want something I can carve myself.

also, why about meerschaum from other countries? I know Africa produces some, which is considered inferior, and America has something that’s similar, but where can I get these?

Sperm donation – anyone ever done it before?

I’m not talking about just fraping…legit sperm donation.

Friends of a friends are looking for someone to donate. Not sure why they are having a hard time finding a willing donator. Most of us guys whack it anyway! lol

On a serious note…what is the process? How do they…"harvest" the specimen? Do you just go into a room and frap into a container? Do they offer any…visual aids? Movies? Mags?

I can’t believe it’s like you see in the movies…what was that movie? Road trip? Where the nurse came in and gave a prostate massage?

What will come first, genetic modification or cybernetic modification of humans?

Seems like genetic modification is a more permanent and less invasive way (either modifying embryos so new people are born with certain superior traits, or using stem cells or gene therapy to modify existing recipients)…

genetic includes things like cloning new body parts etc, cybernetic would also include nanomachines
Isn’t someone in a wheelchair, by definition, a cyborg?

I’m gonna go with cybernetics.
Yeah, I played the new Deus Ex too

Question is pretty vague. I mean, to a certain extent we are already doing cybernetics.

White Genocide

Regurgitating anti-white jargon does not make you appear smart. It makes you look immoral.

The 1948 Convention on Genocide clearly states:

Article 2(c), "Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part"

And, (e) "Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group"

Forced integration is genocide.

Even Article 3(e) "Complicity in genocide" is punishable.

Before I start a new thread, the last thread I attempted to start was closed, so I think a reasonable explanation is in order. I’ll try to make it brief.
After stepping back and taking a look, it appears as though I opened the thread in the middle of a heated debate, one of which nobody could reasonably be expected to understand on the fly, as it was. That being said, I will attempt to be more civil. Remember, I’m new here, so cut me some slack.

I’ll begin with recent world events, some making the news, some only available by subscription.

Passing drug tests

I’m sorry if this thread is misplaced, but I didn’t think the main would be good since it would be filled with jokes, and I’d like real answers.

My sister’s boyfriend apparently went in for a job interview recently and the job was in the bag, until they told him to take a drug test. He hadn’t smoked weed in a month, and even then wasn’t a regular user. Out of paranoia he did that whole detox thing the night before/day of the drug test just to "be safe." Two days later the company called and told him the job was no longer his and that not only did the urine test show marijuana, but also something trying to mask it

Is there a book club here?

I’m just re-reading several classics and would enjoy a lively discussion.
I think there used to be a book sub-forum here but they probably got rid of it due to inactivity. There might be a book crew on The Great Indoors, but I don’t really go there so I don’t really know.
There’s some discussion about books in The Great Indoors on occasion.

I enjoy reading classic stuff to my son. We’ve read the Jungle Book, Wizard of Oz, and Treasure Island. Currently been reading him Hans Christian Andersons Fairy Tales. He loves them but they always make me cry. Especially "The Angel". I’ve also got a book of stories from different cultures all over the world that I used to read as a child. It’s neat that his favorite stories in it are the same as mine were when I was young.

why is drunk driving punished so much severely than speeding?

Posted on December 4, 2011

"alcohol-related traffic deaths" statistics are inflated because they classify it as alcohol related whether a driver, passenger, or pedestrian had any amount of alcohol in them (even less than the legal limit). They also do not assign fault (ie: an intoxicated driver at a stoplight who is hit by a sober driver will still be classified as "alcohol related" and he will face charges)

meanwhile apparently speeding claims even more innocent lives.. and while the majority of speeding deaths occur during the day or afternoon, officers are being instead put on late night shifts to set up roadblocks and look for drunk drivers instead of enforcing speeding laws, ironically more accidents are averted if the officers are put on the 1pm to 10 pm shift…
